I think the fish is smiling at me

...or snarling. I'm not sure - but our friend Vlada did enjoy the
barbequed fish.

Boating Skills

Tanzanians are great people, very friendly & warm. They even let
Prof. Bachenheimer dock the boat into port!

Adventure in Jozani Forest!

Hello Everyone! One of the first things I wanted to do in Zanzibar
was to go to this forest I had read about. So, I dragged my friends
Sarah, Lisa, & Aaron to Jozani to see red colobus monkeys - and BOY
DID WE.

Our guide showed us frogs, crabs, lizards, termite nests, bees nests,
blue monkeys, red monkeys, and we learned a great deal about the
foliage & history of the area, as well as the monkeys.

We saw mothers nursing their babies (monkeys), alpha males as casual
as can be, a family eating together in a field, jumping monkeys and so
much more...

This is a picture of our guide, Sarah, Aaron, and Lisa on the Mangrove
Boardwalk. You'll have to wait to see pictures of me and our red
colobus monkey friends.

Boat Ride to the island of Zanzibar

Day Four

The island of Zanzibar

As we pulled away from the port of Dar Es Salaam, someone shouted out,
"Look! It's the FISH MARKET. Can we go there tomorrow?!" Apparently
this market is unlike any other I've heard of - you actually auction
off the fish! And people gather every Sunday to get the best catch.

More to come, from Zanzibar...
